Melina Bigale is an artist living in Germany and Sweden who works at the intersection of art, philosophy and theatre. She completed her master’s degree in art and philosophy in Kiel. She also studied in Umeå. and from 2022 to 2024 Bigale is a student in the Master’s programme “Contemporary Performing Arts” at the Academy of Music and Drama, GU. Bigale has exhibited in various exhibitions in galleries, off-spaces and museums both in Sweden and Germany. In her art she explores how human traces in furniture or spaces provide information about the past and the individuality of human life. She is interested in how the visible can reveal the invisible. She often works site-specifically to express the individual qualities of a place through her work.
