Emma Amal Khanafer will present two site-specific works at Rabbit/Duck Festival — one created in collaboration with Teater Nu, and one placed directly in the audience area.

Working across sculpture, theatre, and film, Khanafer moves in the borderland between the personal and the universal. Her art navigates existential themes, chaos, and humanity’s bizarre sides — balancing control and disorder through experiments with material and symbolism. Drawing on classical imagery, literature, thought experiments, and biblical narratives, her works reflect on our collective search for meaning, with inspiration from writers such as Pär Lagerkvist.
With a background in scenography and prop-making, she has contributed to productions at Dramaten (Stockholm, 2024), Stora Teatern (Gothenburg, 2023), and GöteborgsOperan (2023). Recent exhibitions include Unga Konstnärer at Galleri Hedenius (Stockholm, 2024), Jag föreställer mig ett hem at Göteborgs Konsthall (2024), and the solo show 15 minuter, en kvart at Galleri Thomassen (2025). Khanafer is also this year’s recipient of the Våga Se Grant.
Her participation in the festival is part of a collaboration between No Deadline, Benedikte Esperi/Finnekumla Dans & Konstscen, and Teater Nu/BOY Konsthall.
