GUSTEN ALDENKLINT

Gusten Aldenklint is a composer and electronic musician with a strong interest in electronics, frequencies, immersive sound and speaker orchestras. He composes using a method were a piece consists of five frequencies within an octave. Music and performance can carry messages stronger than anything else and he searches outside of any previous tonal system to communicate his voice.

Artistic collaborations: PEAMO (debut album will be released in 2024) A trio exploring the composers method; Anna von Hausswolff, dancer/choreographer Linn Lindström and light designer Gerardo Perez Salas (Mexico).

Gusten Aldenklint is a member of the board of Levande Musik and Ljudhavet.

Title: Performing compositions in quadraphonic surround

Duration: ca 40 min.

The concert will be a mix of music from the album PEAMO – Glas (to be released 2024), and compositions for the performance Ett tvinnat tillstånd, which is a duo with dancer/choreographer Linn Lindström (to be premiered later in October at Bildmuseet Umeå), and maybe something more.
The music is written using a method called PEAMO which stands for Pentatonic, Electronic, Acoustic, Microtonal Orchestra.
The vision is to let each piece’s selected frequencies carry a topic and the compositions reflect on these topics.
This will be a solo performance, but the last word in PEAMO, Orchestra, is not discarded.
I think music is invasive, frequencies and vibrations are experienced on some magical and unique level of human perception, and in this setting, the four speakers surrounding us will be the orchestra.
It will probably be loud.
